Musicals in Motion (2008/2009)

The first show produced by Singing Tooth Productions premiered to a full house in July 2008.

Award winning "Musicals in Motion" is a first-of-its-kind theatre show whose aim was to bring to the essence and grandeur of the West End to all theatres around the country - but for a fraction of the ticket cost.

One of the most impressive things about seeing a West End show are the huge production numbers normally accompanied by a large dance ensemble and spectacular sets. To tour such a show with so many people obviously raises the cost for the viewing audience and in many smaller theatres is physically impossible.
So, how could we bring such a spectacular show to theatres but keep ticket prices to suit the everyday budget?

The answer… virtually!

Via a state-of-the-art 24 sq metre rear-projection screen, a pre-recorded cast and CGI (Computer Generated Imagery) sets were "virtually" integrated into the performances. With clever lighting and perfect timing, the live performers interacted seamlessly with their huge counterpart breaking down the barrier between what is "live" and what is "virtual".

Starring Jem Brent and Rachel Slater, both musical stars in their own rights, and with the use of stunning authentic costumes, breathtaking lighting and sound, amazing choreography, all coupled with stunning visual effects, this show was a truly unique experience - one that received rave reviews wherever it played.

During its first year tour, audience feedback was vital to the successful evolution of the show. In fact, so fast was its evolution, many people who returned to see the show a few months after they had seen it before saw a completely different show the second time round.

Audiences throughout the Country were asked to suggest songs and numbers they would like to see and hear, musicals they thought were memorable and sets they had seen which they regarding as breathtaking. After over 50 performances around the UK and Ireland, “Musicals in Motion” had its last performance in winter 2009...This was to make way for the new “audience-built” ...
